Forrester Park Swimming Pool
We are a beautifully warm swimming pool offering swimming lessons for all ages. Situated in the grounds of Forrester Park Golf Club in Great Totham, we are just a few minutes drive from Maldon, Witham, Tiptree and surrounding villages. There is ample free parking on site.
Our Pool
Designed from the outset with the intention of providing a warm, safe environment for children learning to swim, our purpose built pool has a flat floor and is maintained at a higher temperature than most. The in-pool staircase makes it easy to get in and out of the water, especially important if you are carrying your child. No struggling to climb ladders here!
Quality Teaching
All of our swimming teachers are qualified to ASA or STA standards, we do not use unqualified teaching assistants.
Free WiFI
You are welcome to use our WiFi whilst you are at the pool. The current password is displayed on the noticeboard.
U.V.
We use Ultra-Violet light to sterilise the water and this means we can drastically reduce Chlorine levels yet still maintain excellent pool hygiene.
Water Quality
We are proud to display the results of our regular water quality tests by a certified independent laboratory on our noticeboard.
Swimming Lessons
Our excellent teachers, comfortable surroundings and small class sizes ensure your child will make rapid progress in learning to swim. Our Swim School terms are broadly in line with the L.E.A. school timetable and we offer classes every day of the week, including weekends. The main categories are shown below but these are further divided so we can ensure the lessons are best suited to your child's ability level. Swimming Lessons for Schools
We offer swimming lessons for schools, tailor made to your requirements. You would have exclusive use of the entire building making safeguarding of students much easier. Please get in touch if you would like further details.

Lessons with us could work out less expensive per annum than running and maintaining your own pool.

Our studio room, equipped with tables and chairs, can be used as a classroom for pupils waiting for their lessons.

At what age can my child start swimming lessons?
We generally recommend children should be at least eight weeks old. Even at this young age they will feel comfortable in our warm water.
What do I need to provide for my child's lesson?
Our swim school is fully equipped with a wide range of teaching aids so you do not need to bring any floats, armbands or such like. All you need to provide is swimwear, a towel and a swim nappy (where appropriate. We have various sized nappies for sale should you forget to bring one with you).
Must my child wear a swim hat and/or goggles?
We do not insist on hats although we do ask that long hair is tied up or back. If you prefer to wear a swim hat you can and we have them for sale at a very reasonable price. Similarly, we do not require children to wear goggles but most of the time they can if they so wish. There may be occasions when we ask them to remove their goggles for certain activities. We have a choice of high quality goggles for sale.
Can I watch my child's swimming lesson?
Of course! There are seats at the end of the pool.
Can I take photographs or video of my child swimming?
Sorry, but in line with our Child Protection policy we DO NOT allow photography of any kind without our express permission. Please speak to us if you wish to photograph or video your child in the water and we will do our best to accomodate your request.
Does my baby need a wetsuit?
No, our pool is lovely and warm so your baby will be perfectly comfortable in just regular swimwear.
